Project 2052: Revolutionary Dispatches from the World of Everything for Everyone is amazing and available for free! This is speculative activism fiction written in the form of non-fiction. 4 interviews and 1 epistolary story cover the many crises of the mid-21st century, then the insurrections that led to establishing communes all over the world. There is no reading order, so you can start with the website, then go for M.E. O'Brien and Eman Abdelhadi's book. In a time where tech billionaires seem to use dystopian science fiction as a model, it is especially important to counter it with hopeful stories offering us options to reflect about. Current issues, like the Palestinian genocide and the war on Iran, are also taken into account. Most characters are LGBT (trans women...) and/or POC. The weekly chat posts are intended for just that, chatting among each other. What are you currently watching? Reading? What actor/idol are you currently following? What are you looking forward to? Are you busy writing, creating art? Or did you have no time at all for anything, and are bemoaning that fact?
Whatever it is, talk to us about it here. Tell us what you liked or didn't like, and if you want to talk about spoilery things, please hide them under either of these codes: or

It's the season for spring sales and for less than 2 USD, you can get Detective Di: The Silk Rose Murders on Steam or the Switch store. PLOT: You play Di Renjie a.k.a. Judge Dee in the early days of his career. After gaining recognition in Penglai, you are called upon by Empress Wu to solve a string of murder cases in Chang'an. Recommended if you like: - Short games (a little more than 5 hours of play) - Point-and-click mysteries (pixel art style) - Puzzles - Serial killer storylines - Historical Chinese settings + figures The music is nice too, very atmospheric! (Also wrote a longer write-up about it here.)

This month is almost over, so, let's hear it. *g* How did it go with your fannish creativity?
Did you manage to make a thing?
Created fanart or made vids? Wrote fic or meta? How about picspams, link collections, character mood boards, themed playlists, promo posts, or whatever else you create for fannish enjoyment?
Here's the place to share it with us! Leave a link in the comments, or elaborate on it as much as you want.

I've finally found the time to rewatch Heated Rivalry.
With all the fanvids I've seen, I actually feel like I've watched most of the scenes more than twice. And yet it was a complete delight and I was never bored. ^^
I've also relistened to the third episode of Ember & Ice and it was equally wonderful.

The Hymn to Dionysus by Natasha Pulley (The Watchmaker of Filigree Street, The Bedlam Stacks, The Kingdoms, The Half Life of Valery K, The Mars House) was wonderful! A Theban knight starts spending time with a witch, who might very well be a God. Natasha Pulley's fantasy novels lean towards magical realism, and it's quite fascinating to read a magical realism approach to Greek mythology. Also, there's a little linguistics as usual, which I adore. There's major m/m, as well as a non-binary blind prophet.

I've run into a Korean Wordle. It feels strange putting all the letters in a line, but it's good vocabulary practice. And here's another one with 3 levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced). You can only input nouns in this one (at least at the beginner level, I haven't tried the other ones).

Not my survey, but I thought I'd share it here since it's on-topic: a researcher from the University of Bristol is looking for participants in an online survey about consuming wuxia media (especially the works of Jin Yong) in English translation. (It's anonymous, and you don't need to have read or seen any Jin Yong books or adaptations to participate in the survey -- there are also questions about respondents' interest in wuxia more generally, how you tend to consume Chinese media, how much your reading choices are influenced by things like translation quality, prices, formats, illustrations, etc.) Survey link: Reading Chinese Wuxia (Martial Arts) Fiction in EnglishI enjoyed filling it out, and the question about book covers has made me interested in reading a Jin Yong novel I hadn't heard much about before! (Which surprised me, since I feel like I'm normally not very influenced by covers.)
